The Real Miracle of Christmas

According to Collier’s Encyclopedia:

            Dec 25            – celebrated as the birth of a New Sun (Mithra – Sun-god)

-         great feast of the sun god natalis solis invicti  ( the birthday of the unconquerable sun)

 

According to New Catholic Encyclopedia:

Dec 25            - the Bishops of Rome decided this date which is celebrated by the Pagans as the Feast of the Sun-god to coincide with the date of the Birth of Jesus Christ because too many people celebrated this date before the 5^th Century.

 According to Tradition:

            Dec 8              - Immaculate Conception

            Dec 25            - Birth of Jesus Christ

            Jan 6               - Three Kings

When Christ was Born?

                - the best person to answer this question is no other than Dr. Luke

- he records the precise information of the birth of John the Baptist and 

  Jesus Christ.

 

A. LUKE 1: 5-9

            - Zacharias was a Priest of the Course of ABIA ( Abijah)

            - Elizabeth was of the daughters of Aaron

            - rightheous before God, blameless

      V7 – well stricken in years ( very old ) and barren ( can’t bear a child, sterile )

      V9 -  his lot was to burn incense

 

B. LUKE 1: 23-24

            - This time, Elizabeth conceived John the Baptist

            - house of Zacharias was at a hill country South of Jerusalem which is Juda

            - it is approximately 30 miles 

            - it took 2-3 days of journey by foot

 

C. LUKE 1:26-27, 35-36

            - This time is the 6^th month of Elizabeth conceiving John the Baptist

            - This is also the time when Mary conceived Jesus by the Holy Ghost

           

On the Religious calendar of Israel, everything started at the PASSOVER!

 

Exo 12:1-2     -“this shall be unto you the beginning of months”

                        - it shall be the first month of the year

 Exo 13:4         - this day came ye out in the month of ABIB ( Nissan )

Exo 12:3         - PASSOVER

Exo 12:6         - Abib 14 or April 14 ( on our calendar)

                        - This is the FIXED starting point!

 1 Chron 24:10 – “ the eight course is Abijah”( Abijah is the 8^th week)

 

Since, there are 7 days per week times 8 weeks = 56 days

Normal birth of a child is about 37 weeks to 42 weeks or 40 weeks = 280 days = 9 months

The real Miracle of Christmas is not the Birth of Jesus Christ but it’s the Miraculous Conception which is done by the Holy Ghost!
